This week we have been mainly...dancing and adapting

Leila has started to 'dance' this week.  Her dances consist of either knee bending, fast stepping or arm waving. She hasn't figured out how to combine these moves, so does them in turn. She seems to enjoy her 'dancing' but she also really enjoys having us hold her to dance - which is quite tiring after a dozen songs and does somewhat limit the moves we can do ourselves.  She still really loves it whenever one of Scott's songs comes on the playlist :-)

This week has been a tough week though, as we are changing Leila's routine.  I have been feeding her before each nap and then putting her to bed which has worked fine for me as it means she gets tired but is also full.  The problem though is that Ella obviously can't do the same routine on the days when she's looking after her.  Alongside the nap routine problem is the bottle issue again - since we got back from Sharm Leila has been refusing a bottle completely.  She had a whole week of just breast and has now decided she doesn't want the bottle at all.
So we decided that I needed to change my daytime routine to try and get Leila onto the bottle again.  So this week I haven't been offering Leila the breast during the day, only a bottle.  This has been hard for us both, especially as she doesn't want any milk from the bottle! Naps have involved CIO which hasn't made it any easier.
We've ended the week realising that she really doesn't want the bottle, will sometimes take a sip from a cup of milk (but prefers to blow bubbles into it - who doesn't?!), but loves bm ice lollies.  She can fall asleep herself in her cot after a bit of crying and reluctance to let go.  She can get away with one nap a day, but functions a little better with two!
Towards the end of the week I did get in touch with a British Health visitor who lives out here to ask her advice and she was really reassuring that actually Leila shouldn't need lots of extra milk during the day if she is having two good feeds from me at night.  This is great to know and means I can focus on a new nap routine and offering milk from a cup or giving a lolly, but not stressing about the amount of milk she is/isn't having during the day.
