Continuing to roll with it

last night was exhausting for us both as Edward took an hour to settle between midnight and 1am and again around 4am. on the plus side though, for the first time in ages, Leila slept through the night.

somehow though, today has been very productive. I'm blogging now to capture this feeling of productiveness before reality sets in.

Leila was up late today and so Scott had left for work before the two of them woke.  This meant I got them both up and dressed by myself and then we had breakfast.  Leila isn't taking to her new multivit syrup that i am trying to get her to drink at breakfast (like we take our multivit tablets), but we're working on it!

After a bit of fun play time all together it was time for Edward's nap.  After 30 mins of trying to settle him he eventually slept for 90 minutes!  It's still taking ages to settle him partially because of his rolling but I am trying to be consistent with not constantly picking him up (although I do pick him up for a jiggle and a rendition of Twinkle Twinkle) and I'm hopeful we'll get through it.  I could always sling him, but I'm reluctant to sling indoors for the sake of it.

During his long nap Leila and I had really nice play time and we made her a hat (cutting and sticking from an old magazine). I also prepped the road chicken for the slow cooker and got two loads of washing in and out to dry.

When Edward woke we had a lovely Skype chat with Fabs and baby Seth.  We then had a quick dash to Lidl to get veg for tea before having lunch.  I was hopeful that Edward would sleep at this point, but he didn't - hey ho.  I decided it wasn't worth trying to get him to nap before Leila so I just tried to keep him calm while I settled Leila into her nap. He then took less then 10 mins to go down.

During the double nap time I managed to prep the veg for dinner and make Scott's sarnies for tomorrow as well as do a little work on our 2014 Photobook (mad dash as the voucher expires in a few days.

So both kids have napped, dinner is prepped and shopping and some jibble-jobs have been done.  Now for things to all go horribly wrong!!!
