So when it looked like there wouldn't be an arrival today, we decided to make other plans. Those other plans involved marking the day in a different way, by putting a beer on!
We've not put a beer on in quite a while (!) and so had to remind ourselves of a few steps, but we got there in the end. Hopefully the weather is cooling a bit and so we will be able to keep the temperature constant for the brew. We also want to keep the temperature low so that the brew will take a bit longer - giving us a bit longer to get the Baba Ganough out and settled! We do plan to prepare the bottles in the next few days though, so that when we do come to bottling we don't have someone else after their own special drink!
