Leila loves to nap in her slings (we have three; the ErgoBaby, the Maya Wrap and the Kari-Me) which is great for us as it means we get to have some lovely 'cuddle time' as we are chest to chest. However in order to stay napping Leila needs us to be moving! This means that nap time for Leila becomes walking time for us. We heave learnt a neat little trick recently (that we can get her to nap in the sling while we are walking on our cross-trainer!) but generally when nap time arrives we find ourselves walking (and walking) the streets of Degla.
When we are out for a morning nap I like to try and get a coffee. This is not just a pick-me-up after the morning feed (!) but also a little treat in preparation for about an hour of walking. At a weekend we tend to go out for the morning nap/walk together and try to get a coffee and breakfast somewhere. So what have we found out about the offerings of Maadi's many coffee shops?
Jared's. Pros = free refils for dine-in and good breakfast options. Cons = no decaf.
Grecco @ CSA. Pros = loyalty card, decaf, nice carrot cake and they know my order. Cons = a bit far for a walk when not planning to stay at the CSA.
Beanos. Pros = good coffee and good snacks, good place for getting together with other mums, good seats for playing on. Cons = a long walk from home (but good if you are already on road 9)

The Coffee Company. Pros = decent coffee and decent decaf, open early and designed for take-out. Cons = not many snack options, busy location on road 233 (I.e not on a walking route)
Cilantro. Pros = open early, can browse in Volume 1. Cons = rubbish service, poor snack selection
Costa Coffee. Pros = large mugs of coffee. Cons = poor service and often sold out of the best snacks Il Forno. Pros = this is actually a bakery so they have good snack options. Cons = coffee seems to be an add on. I had to explain how to make a latte to the girl there
Boden. Pros = decent coffee and the only non-smoking shop in the Grand Mall. Cons = even though they are all about coffee they seemed caught a bit off guard actually being asked to make one
Italian Coffee shop near Seoudi (not actualy name!) Pros = on quiet road and walking route. Cons = not ready for morning coffee requests or for take out
Not yet tried = Fino
