Alexandria - Cavafy's House

Our first visit in Alexandria was to C.P. Cavafy's apartment. He was a Greek pet, who lived in Alexandria for over 20 years and his apartment is now open as a small museum. This time last year we would have stared blankly at anyone who had mentioned his name, but now he's a favourite of ours - his poem, Ithaka, was one that our friend Mel read at our wedding and so has quite special significance for us. It was great to visit the place and see the desk where Cavafy wrote it.
