The oven door
Our oven, as well as being a death trap due to the amazing "light it by sticking a match through a hole in the base" technique, has a wobbly door. We, however, have a broom with a long handle.
Hi Scott, Loving the blog. It's strangely addictive as each day seems to end on a 'cliff hanger'. I think it's got potential for a sitcom. Desperate to know how the baked potatoes will turn out. M@
Hi kids, like the kitchen adaptations! Think the broom handle might be a bit dangerous during a blackout though! - paint it white or get narrower'wood/pole' & put vertically through handle?? keep up those cooking skills... net
Baked Potatoes went well - so well we cooked them again tonight, but added cheese to the mix (getting a bt more adventurous with our diet after seeing the Doc today)! Thanks for the idea about the broom handle nettle - but this wouldn't be an Egyptian apartment without the odd health and safety hazard, would it??
i had a gas fridge with the same lighting-up palavar and mini-blast as did the cooker in castellar (which looks much like yours and the similar door problem: solution was to wedge a chop-stick between one of the knobs and the top handle-door ) -- --- ((this stretches my technical vocabulary and syntax, so i am going to lie down...)) --- roy
