This week the theme was "theatre" and I nominated an amazing company whom we've seen perform twice at Sziget.
Pan.Optikum, Freiburg
Pan.Optikum create giant street theatre that happens all around you. You look in one direction and the actors are coming towards you on huge platforms, then you hear a voice behind you and another actor is climbing a back-lit scaffold structure. All this happens as an emotionally stirring soundtrack plays around you. Their productions include pyrotechnics, singing, cantilevers, acrobatics, lights, silhouettes, music, video and different languages; a sensory experience that cannot be matched.
