Ali - absolutely thrilling to see this vinyl... it ticks every box: a complete mystery as to what's in the grooves; minimalist sleeve design; letterpress printing onto a paper bag; Sonore Cairo (as are my Om Kalthoum discs); and the calligraphy at the top - worthy of a anadaluzian mosque - there is no need to draw pictures when writing can be just as powerful a pleaser and informer of the eye. I'm going OTT ...but then tomorrow, Saturday 18th is European Vinyl Day (or some such marketing tosh). Thanks for the find... looking forward to the pleasure of actually handling it.
Great looking vinyl - Jim is trying to translate the arabic writing and has taken an enlargment to the F Park Mosque in the hope that someone miaght be able to help - but no luck yet. Pip pip!!
