actually Jim said it but he cannot rememebr what his blog identity is - we heard the prog on radio last night and it's not just bars that have faded away...that cafe on the circus called gruppi(?) clearly had charm and atmosphere once but felt as stale as its pastries tasted... a bit opposite it is a famous journalist bar/restaurant...that too seemed pickled in anachronism. ... clearly the hi-life is in Alexandria...or the ex-pat suburbs such as maadi and round at Scotty's place.
